Ebenezer Stones: Community Art Practice

This kinetic prayer is one suggested response to reading Joshua 3-4 in our Large Group Event on the Practice of Worship

Materials Needed

  • Paper
  • Markers, paint, or other art supplies
  • Circular objects to trace
  • Scissors
  • Poster-board

Instructions

  • Trace a circle on a paper..
  • Fill the circle with words and/or drawings about what you’re thankful to God for, what you want to remember that He has done. Ideas below!
  • Cut out the circle ‘stone’ and glue it to our poster.
  • Look at the other ‘stones’ and praise God for his presence and good work.

Suggestions to get you started…

  • Write a name or character trait of God and illustrate it. Ie. Faithful, Good, Sovereign, Creator, Loving, Father, Shepherd, etc.
  • Draw an event or a time when you felt God was helping you or was near to you. Or a time when you felt safe and sure.
  • Write “I’m thankful for…“ or “I remember…“ and fill in the blank, then color or illustrate the rest of the circle.
