1. On the edge of your poster board, write the Lord’s Prayer:

“Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be Your name,
Your kingdom come,
Your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one.”
-Matthew 6: 9–13

I like to write it in pencil first, and then decorate with markers. You can take turns who gets to write each part. It’s ok if keeps going a little extra or doesn’t make a perfect rectangle frame. Work as a group to decorate it how you want.

2. At the top of the poster, write a title. Some options could be:

• “Prayer List”
• “Prayer Poster”
• “Share your prayers”
• “Pray”

3. Make envelopes for the prayer requests.

*Tip: have one kid or adult practice this first and then teach everyone else how to make one so everyone contributes an envelope to the poster.

*Option: use regular envelopes instead of making envelopes.

Step 1: Take a letter sized piece of paper and fold it in half (hamburger fold) and unfold it.

Step 2: Fold the top corners down to meet in the middle.

Step 3: Fold the bottom edge up to meet edges of the triangles.

Step 4: Fold the bottom edge up once more so that it overlaps the triangles.

Step 5: Fold the tip of the triangle down so that it is about 1/4” away from the bottom fold.

Step 6: Fold each side in leaving about 1/4” in the middle.

Step 7: Unfold the sides.

Step 8: Fold the side tabs up to align with the vertical folds.

Step 9: Fold the top of each side tab down so that it aligns with the middle fold.

Step 10: Fold the side tabs in and tuck the folds inside the envelope opening.

Step 11: Tuck the top of the envelope in!

4. Tape all your envelopes to the poster.

5. Print off the prayer request cards (last page of this document) and cut them out.

than mine. 

Tuck your blank prayer request cards into one envelope.

6. Write instructions on your poster. For example:

“Fill in a prayer request card.”

“Put your prayer requests in an empty envelope.”

7. Hang your prayer poster in an area where your community members can contribute to it. Take some time to write out your own prayer requests. Remember to check it and prayer for the requests in the poster!
