Wendy Walsh-Canas has been teaching music across Los Angeles for the last 14 years, and is starting her 6th year at Lake Avenue Church as the Coordinator of Children’s Choirs. She has worked with TK-12th grade students in both the private and public sector of education, teaching private lessons, conducting award winning choral ensembles, rehearsing handbell choirs, and teaching music theory. She currently works in the El Monte City School District teaching general music to TK-6th grade students, band and choir. Wendy has earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Vocal Performance and Music Education, a Single Subject California Credential for Music, and a Masters of Music Education. Her studies include curriculum-based learning for Christian Music Education. She is certified in Kodaly Levels 1 and 2, and currently volunteers on the Kodaly Association of Southern California as the membership chair.
