Lyndell Leatherman earned his bachelor’s degree in church and choral music from Olivet Nazarene College (now University), Kankakee, Illinois, followed by graduate studies in music theory and composition at Illinois State University, Normal, Illinois. This launched him into a long career in church and school music in the Kansas City metro area.
Lyndell currently resides with his wife Barbara in historic Harrisonville, Missouri. Operating under the umbrella of Leatherman Music Services, he composes, arranges, orchestrates, edits, and engraves music for several publishers, churches, and community choral groups. While serving in local churches throughout his life, he has developed a passion for excellence in worship–endeavoring to produce creative, meaningful, and engaging resources for the Church at large. Having already worked with Dr. Willmington for many years as his notational editor and engraver, Lyndell was thrilled to sign on to the Imagining Worship with Kids project with those same roles!
When not engaged in musical pursuits, Lyndell enjoys maintaining the 1880 Victorian house and “secret garden” of which he has been graciously appointed steward.
