Clay Schmit is a Lutheran pastor, scholar, and musician. He has served parishes in North Dakota, California, and Wisconsin. Academically, he has served as the DeKruyter Professor of Preaching and the Academic Director of the Brehm Center for Worship, Theology, and the Arts at Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California. He has also served as a Lutheran seminary president in South Carolina. Currently, in his semi-retirement, he is a founding member of Emmanuel Lutheran Global Seminary in Naples, Florida, with students in many nations including countries in Africa and South America. Musically, he is a composer and choral conductor whose choirs have toured Europe extensively.
