Music Teacher at Campbell Christian School

Bora Im, a native of Korea, began studying piano and composition at age 3 influenced by her parents who were both musicians. She was one of the top music students at Ewha Women’s University in Seoul in 2004. The following year, she and her family moved to the U.S. where she completed her Bachelor of Music degree (magna cum laude) at the University of North Texas. While attending UNT, she received a music scholarship, an academic scholarship, and other sponsored scholarships.

After winning the North American World Scholarship from the Berklee College of Music in Boston, she broadened her classical composition and performance skills to include Film Scoring and Jazz/MIDI Studies while working on a Professional Diploma. While studying in Boston, she worked as an assistant at the Professional Writing Center where Berklee students study and develop computer music.

As a pastor’s wife, she earned her master of arts degree at Fuller Theological Seminary emphasizing Worship and Music Ministry to help her husband’s ministry and serve the church and local community. She has been actively serving as a church accompanist, band director, composer, arranger, orchestrator, and spiritual leader for years.

Bora has had a variety of teaching experiences. She has taught piano at many top music academies in the DFW area and has been an excellent music-theory teacher to college level students from the University of North Texas, Berklee College of Music, Southern Methodist University, New England Conservatory, and Indiana University. She worked as a music director and piano specialist at AMDA College and Conservatory of the Performing Arts, Hollywood campus. She was hired to compose logo music for film productions and had been working as a freelance pianist, accompanist, film music composer, orchestrator, and transcriber.

Recently, she is excited to join the Campbell Christian School teaching staff as a music teacher(K-8) to continue her commitment to music education.
